Context & Challenge
Community Innovation hub is a nonprofit creating safe, welcoming spaces for residents to connect, create, and grow. With a focus on youth, it offers access to technology, mentorship, and programs that spark learning and self-expression.
To bring that mission to life visually, the brand needed an identity that connects with the people, something that honored them while signaling growth, collaboration, and possibility. The challenge was to design a brand identity that reflects the evolving spirit of the space.
The creative goal: to develop a bold, meaningful identity that resonates with the community and reflects the future the Hub is helping to build.

Strategy & Insights
To start, I immersed myself in the organization’s mission—understanding how the Hub offers not just a space, but a platform for expression, growth, and intergenerational connection.
The logo became the anchor for this vision, symbolizing inclusion, care, and the cultural heartbeat of the neighborhood. I researched community-centered nonprofits and noticed a pattern: many leaned either too institutional or too casual.
This identity needed to feel rooted and optimistic, but also expressive but grounded.
The visual direction was shaped by three key ideas:
-
Value-Infused Design
-
Community at the heart
-
Scalable Simplicity

Presence in Action
Beyond the logo, I expanded the visual identity through branded collateral that brought the system to life in tangible ways. From business cards to presentations and environmental signage, each touchpoint was crafted to feel consistent, warm, and rooted in the community’s ethos.
The design system made room for both formal and expressive applications, whether it was a professional deck or a community-facing banner. These extensions helped unify how the brand showed up in real-world spaces and set a strong visual tone as the organization's image.
